About this position

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager who is ready to leverage their development, leadership, and technology banking experience in the innovative fintech industry. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals who are eager to apply their knowledge in a fast paced, deal-centric environment, helping modernize the way that businesses find and select capital. 

 As the Software Engineering Manager, your core responsibilities will be to own the SDLC of the product and technical roadmaps that support the marketplace platform. Each day presents new opportunities for helping a diverse set of businesses connect with the best possible lenders.  
 
This role is a key member of our team and reports to the Chief Technology Officer.  This role is located in Charlotte, NC. 

How you will make an impact

  • Lead, mentor, manage, and be an active participant of a platform development team primarily based in Latin America by fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment and ensuring clear communication of goals, expectations, and feedback. 
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and fix technical issues. 
  • Hire, train, and seamlessly integrate new developers as the company continues to grow. 
  • Maintain a culture of delivering high quality deliverables through adherence to coding, testing, and deployment best practices.  
  • Oversee, and directly participate in, the planning, execution, and delivery of platform/technical roadmaps and implementing testing and validation processes for all features and updates.  
  • Work closely with product management, business analysis, UX/UI design, and business stakeholders. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, infrastructure/architecture optimization and implementation of best practices. 
  • Monitor progress against deliverables and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines. 
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to the development team. 
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to help Foro take advantage of new capabilities and deliver industry leading products to consumers. 

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
    5+ years of experience in agile software development with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing development teams, with remote management experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with full-stack development, AWS cloud technologies, modern software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Passion for Fintech and/or Technology and its potential to improve financial services.
  • A relationship builder with the proven ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, influence, and make decisions in a team environment.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit to challenge the status quo, take smart risks, and get your hands dirty.
  • Open-minded, humble, and curious with an eagerness to learn, grow, and succeed.
